Today, Sports Marketing Scotland is delighted to introduce you to Scotland’s next top sportsperson. Jordyn Smith is 15 years old, but has been involved in taekwondo for over a decade already.
Over the last year, Jordyn has moved up to the junior division to compete against older, more experienced individuals. However, despite that, she’s attained a silver medal in the Dutch Open, a Bronze in the German Presidents Cup and another Bronze in the Austrian Open. Alongside those medals, she’s been awarded Best Improved Sports Person for Scotland by Sports Aid, Sports Personality of the Year by Falkirk Council, and she was shortlisted for the Daily Record’s Up and Coming Scottish Sportsperson award.
A product of the Central Taekwondo Academy in Carronshore, Falkirk, Jordyn’s results over the last year have seen her chosen to represent Great Britain at the World Junior Championships in Canada in November.
This is where you come in.
Her participation in this event is completely self-funded. Alongside her travel to Canada, she now also has to travel to Manchester and attend team training every weekend.
